Student Spotlight: Jordan Gutman

When Jordan Gutman decided to launch his first startup freshly out of college, he was without a technical founder. Lacking the technical know-how, he didn't pursue his original idea, because he felt like he didn't know someone well enough to become a cofounder, and he couldn't built it himself. If you're not friends or professionally acquainted with someone, would it be smart to get into a business marriage with them? He didn't know. 

What was hard was a feeling he couldn't shake of being debilitated for lacking basic Rails knowledge. "If you're not a technical founder," he explained, "In the beginning you're just this schmuck. It's like trying to start a band with no musical talent." He decided to regroup, take One Month Rails, and figure out how to build an API on his own. Now, several years later, he's the co-founder of the awesome startup, Public House Wines. 

What's he up to now?

Jordan wants to keep pushing the envelope in the tech world, and even teach what he's learned about launching a physical product from idea to market. He plans to help others materialize their ideas, step-by-step, and teach more about the lesser-known sides of entrepreneurship.
