Student Spotlight: Alex Kehaya

For Alex, an entrepreneur and creative consultant, his job is to make visions become realities. Yet one of the challenges in entrepreneurship and design is creating a quick prototype to explain your ideas and demonstrate your designs in real-time to clients and collaborators.

One Month Rails was the perfect starting point. Understanding the basics of rails lets you work seamlessly with developers and get projects done more quickly. Now, when I talk to a developer, I actually know what I'm talking about. The class got him to a place where he could start asking the right questions for his career and the apps he wanted to build. After just a few weeks in the class, he said, "now,when I talk to a developer, I actually know what I'm talking about."

Alex didn't stop with just rails — he's now a student in the Stripes Payment and Growth Hacking classes as well. Taking these three classes helped him launch an app at a ProductHunt hackathon with full API integration that got 3,000 views on the first day.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Alex has even bigger dreams. Alex plans to launch his own app, get a deeper understanding of Ruby, and put all the pieces together. He is still slowly figuring out what he needs to learn, but for him, it's a fun challenge — and by asking the right questions and digging into his own accelerated learning adventures, he's taking his career to the next level.
