Have you always wanted to get into project management, but weren’t sure where to start? Or maybe you’re finding yourself responsible for projects and project teams— even though that’s not on your business card. One Month Project Management will help you save time and money and successfully take your projects from ideation to reality.
You’ll get a great overview of the practicalities of Project Management and putting what you’ve learned to work right away, regardless of what field you’re in. This course is designed to give you hands-on, immediately applicable knowledge including email optimizations, schedule planning, work breakdown structures, and more.
You’re going to walk away with a clear idea of how to properly manage projects of any scale. Plus, when you sign up, you immediately get access to a member’s area where you can learn and share with fellow students while you take the course at your own pace.
My project management career started early: It began the night I saw RENT.
Stick with me here.
When I saw how all the lights and sets and costumes and people came together to make something more, I was hooked. I wanted to do that. That love of the larger picture (and a knack for being able to bring it all together) has lead me from theater to marketing to tech -- and many roads in between.
The road hasn’t always been easy. Despite working on large scale projects for some of the biggest companies out there, it would still bother me that I didn’t have formal training in my field. My finals involved stage combat and mime, not gantt charts and work breakdown structures! But the more projects I worked on, the more I realized that all my work -- on stage or off -- involved solving problems. It didn’t matter if that problem was a tricky transition from scene four or a too-tight timeline for a website turnaround.
As a result, I value real-world, hands-on learning experiences in my teaching. Rather than teaching towards a certification, I aim to give students tools and techniques they can apply right away, no matter what kinds of projects they’re working on. In One Month Project Management, I’ll help you lay the groundwork to get started managing your projects more effectively. You’ll learn how to get projects done on time, on spec, and under budget, how to conquer scope creep, and manage risk. Oh, and also a thing or two about cakes.
See you in class!
