Week 1 - The Top 10 Concepts That Are The Same in Every Programming Language
Week 2 - Giphy API
This week we’re making an app that searches for animated GIFs. It will require us to build a search bar, make an API call to giphy.com, and then to display all the JSON data we receive as images on our site.
Week 3 - SoundCloud App
This week we’re making an app that searches SoundCloud for music and plays our results live in our app (just like a jukebox!). We’ll want to use the SoundCloud Widget API in order to control our live streaming, and HTML5’s localStorage property to save our playlist (even after we shut down the browser).
Week 4 - Google Spreadsheets as a Database
This week we’ll use Tabletop.js so that we can generate our own API using Google Spreadsheet as a database.
The way I like to teach is "I do. We do. You do." I'll show you not only how to build the projects, but where to look when you're on your own. The hardest parts about learning to code are having the motivation to stick with it, and having the confidence to build something on your own. And that’s exactly why I created this class.
In this 4 week course, you'll put together 4 projects that you can use in your portfolio. All I ask from you is a minimum of 3 hours a week. And by the end of the course you’ll be coding by yourself without any of my help.
Best of luck on your journey!
